There were a number of issues identified in this lift pit. Firstly, the governor tension weight electrical 'cut-out' switch has not been adjusted correctly and therefore will not operate as designed. In addition, the compensating chain (whisper-flex) requires some attention to prevent the rubber coating from wearing excessively.

This is a close up of some of the fixings on a counterweight frame. The design of this counterweight relies on these fixing points, which in this case are extremely loose and the washers have been installed incorrectly.

This shows a large crack in the front wall of the liftwell. In this case, the liftwell was constructed before the reactions of the Lift product were known.

This shows an example of an inadequate fixing of a trimmer beam in the liftwell to the liftwell wall.
