Privacy Policy

LML Lift Consultants Pty Ltd (ABN 44 164 997 433) is an independent vertical transportation consultancy. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

Through the enquiry form we collect your name, your company or organisation name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, the location of the building your enquiry concerns, and anything you write in the free-text field. Our web host also records standard technical information about visits, including IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited.

We use Google Analytics to understand how this site is used. It sets cookies on your device and records technical information including your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them. We read this in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Outside the website we hold contact details and correspondence for the organisations we work with. We do not seek to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act.

2. Why we use it

We use what you send us to respond to your enquiry and work out the right starting point for your building. We use technical information in aggregate to understand how the site is used, and we use personal information where we need to in order to meet our legal, insurance and professional obligations.

With your consent we may send occasional updates about our services or training. You can withdraw consent at any time, every message we send identifies us and carries a working unsubscribe link, and sending an enquiry does not by itself add you to any list. We will not use your information for another purpose unless you would reasonably expect it, you have consented, or the law requires it.

3. Who we share it with, and where it is held

We share personal information with our own staff to the extent they need it to respond to you, with the providers below, with our professional advisers, and with anyone to whom we are required by law to disclose it. We do not sell personal information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient we take reasonable steps to ensure they do not breach the Australian Privacy Principles, as required by APP 8.

4. How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls, multi-factor authentication on business accounts, and limiting access to those who need it. We keep what you send us only for as long as we need it, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

We participate in the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. If we suffer a breach likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.

5. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date or incomplete. Contact our Privacy Officer below. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. There is no charge. If we refuse, we will tell you why in writing.

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, write to our Privacy Officer. We will acknowledge within five working days and aim to resolve the matter within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, on 1300 363 992, or at GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
